Honda CBR250RR Black Custom

A sport-bike heart, a custom silhouette

Black bodywork, a brown ribbed seat and a round headlamp give this Honda a character far removed from the familiar faired CBR. The 2017 Honda CBR250RR Black Custom pairs a 250cc sport-bike engine basis with exposed mechanical details and a wide, raised handlebar. It is a distinctive Bali motorcycle rental for riders who enjoy using a clutch and choosing their own gears.

What sits beneath the custom look

• Engine: 250cc-class, four-stroke parallel twin with DOHC and liquid cooling, based on the original modern CBR250RR generation.
• Transmission: six-speed manual gearbox; clutch and gear changes are part of the ride.
• Brakes: discs at the front and rear.
• Layout: exposed frame and engine, a wide handlebar and no tall windscreen or full sport fairing.

The custom treatment changes more than the outline. Your hands meet a broad, raised bar rather than the low sport bars associated with the faired RR. The shaped brown seat softens the otherwise stripped-back, mechanical look.

Make the ride part of your Bali day

For a day out from a stay around Canggu or Seminyak, leave time between stops so the motorcycle can be part of the outing, not just transport to the next café. A day exploring around Ubud offers the same reason to bring a bike with a little personality. This is a choice for someone already comfortable riding a manual motorcycle: frequent clutch work and gear changes remain part of busy traffic.

The open layout also leaves less bodywork between you and the wind or rain. Prefer the enclosed sport-bike silhouette and lower bars? Compare the faired Honda CBR250RR before deciding which riding layout appeals to you.
