1.5 million tourists in 2022

Up to 1.5 million high-quality foreign visitors will arrive in Bali in 2022

2022-06-25

Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, has set a goal for Bali in 2022 of up to 1.5 million high-quality foreign visitors.

In order to help Bali's economy recover and provide jobs for the region, Uno defines excellent tourists as those that travel there for an extended period of time and spend a lot of money.

“Hence, our steps are to align in the midst of a declining promotion budget. We must use the entrepreneurial spirit more”, he emphasized on Monday.

In addition to the goal of attracting 1.5 million foreign visitors, Uno pointed out that the ministry expected seven million high-quality domestic visitors to Bali in 2022.

He reaffirmed that it is anticipated that the November 2022 G20 Summit in Bali will encourage delegates to remain longer in Bali and have a favorable effect on MSME operators in the province. During the G20 Summit, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will organize 400 MSMEs spread over 40 hotels.

The minister stated that although not yet at their best, Bali's tourist and creative economy sectors had started to recover.

“South Bali has begun to show a revival. For West and North Bali, we will initiate several events. Later, there will be a cruise at the end of the year and will dock in North Bali. In addition, we will hold an International Conference on Ecotourism next month at the West Bali National Park,” he said. (ANT)
